Kelly Supply First to Sell Gates LifeGuard Sleeving

In the June edition of the Gates Fluid Power Insider eNewsletter, Kelly Supply was featured in one of the articles.  Tony Widhalm, also sent a note to the Branch Managers stating, “Thanks for being the first to marketing with LifeGuard.”

LifeGuard line-of-sight protective sleeving has been a brisk seller in the original-equipment market since it was introduced in July 2008. Now it’s available to your customers as well.

LifeGuard sleeving protects equipment operators from pinhole leaks (up to 3,000 psi) and catastrophic bursts (up to 6,000 psi) in hydraulic lines. This innovative safety product was a winner last year in Plant Engineering magazine’s “Product of the Year” awards competition in the “Fluid Handling” category.

And deservedly so. One of the first LifeGuard sleeving assemblies sold by Kelly Supply Company was dramatically put to the test on a customer’s skid-steer loader. A hydraulic line was caught and crushed between the bucket and attachment forks. The hose burst. But the operator didn’t notice a problem until he saw fluid dripping from the end of the sleeve. He said that usually with that type of failure fluid sprays everywhere, but in this case there was only a small spill on the floor. LifeGuard sleeving had done its job, protecting the operator from possible injury. << snip >>
